Community Energy Newham is the first, and only, community energy co-operative in the London Borough of Newham. Its mission is to develop community-owned and democratically led sustainable energy projects that empower the community and reduce carbon emissions.
In October 2023, CEN began installing solar panels on the roof of three Newham libraries, with the help of Repowering London – and soon CEN will be inviting the public to invest and bring the panels into community ownership!
